Transport Research Centre is the state research agency of the Ministry of Transport and Communications of the Czech Republic (MOT). CDV was established in 1992 as the Czech successor to the former Czechoslovak Transport Research Institute (est. 1955). Main activities cover research and consultancy in all transport modes on national, regional and local level. CDV is the major contractor for number of national projects, funded by Ministry of Transport and Communications, Ministry of Environment and Ministry of Interior & Czech Police Presidium.


Ivan Fencl

 

Researcher

 

Graduated from the Technical University of Brno in 1982 in civil engineering. He worked as a designer of roads and as a programmer. He is a researcher with CDV (Transport Research Centre) where he specialises in ITS. He is the head of ITS Department.. Since 1996 he has been in co-operation with the Ministry of Transport of the Czech Republic on transport telematics. Fencl is a member of the Executive Board of the Association of Transport Telematics CR and a member of European working groups for ITS standardisation (CEN).  He is the head of the National Application Team for WG13 - ITS Architecture and WG 2 - Freight and fleet management as well. He has been involved in several ITS projects in the Czech. He is a member of  the co-ordination group for Transport and ITS planning in the region of Brno-city.
