Road and Traffic Centre is a constitutive part of the Faculty Institute; it was started in 1980, immediately after the foundation of the Faculty of Technical Sciences in Maribor. During these years it has grown into a modern, independent and verified research unit, which has the suitable research team (13 full-time members, February 2000).

Road and Traffic Centre perform scientific research for the clients from the state administration (Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Transport and Communications, Ministry for Environment and Physical Planning) as well as applicable research and transfer of research achievements into practice.

Road and Traffic Centre perform joint research work with several corresponding foreign universities.

He got his D.Sc. degree in civil Eng. in December 1995. Since 1994, he acts as Senior Researcher at the Centre of Road and Road Traffic. Since 1996, he is Assistant Professor for Traffic Safety and Road Accident analyse on Dept. of Transportation Eng. and since 1997 Road traffic expert for Slovenian Guidelines for Roads and Traffic for Ministry for Transportation and Communication of Republic of Slovenia. He is member of Slovenian National Road Association, the Institute of Transportation Engineering, USA and the council of HZDP, Croatia.
